Jenny O’Brien, Bend, Oregon
Hi everyone! My name is Jenny O'Brien and I am so excited to be a mentor with The Mayfly Project. I am originally from the Seattle area but have lived in Bend, OR for about 6 years. I come from a family of outdoorsmen and was brought along on outdoor adventures from a very young age. I learned to love the sport of fly fishing and all that it has to offer people of all ages and backgrounds. By day, I work as a global program manager for Expedia and I love my job. My other activities include beach volleyball, trail running and hiking, bird hunting and spending time with family and friends.
I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to share my love of fly fishing with these amazing kids! Central Oregon has incredible rivers and there is no doubt we're going to have a great time fishing and making new friendships on the water!
Needless to say I LOVE FLY FISHING
Living in central Oregon has given me the opportunity to fall in love with the sport.
My husband and I spend many hours on the river together.
Our family consists of three daughters and just recently I became a grandmother!
We moved here 20 years ago, upon doing so I opened my own salon and found were I belong.
Its a perfect place for us.
A lifelong Oregonian and fly fisher with great appreciation for the sport of fly fishing and the outdoor places where it is pursued. Fly fishing has been a wonderful tool in balancing the stress of a dangerous career in law enforcement. The way it can draw a person’s focus entirely to the present is great therapy and so it seems to be a perfect escape for children in foster care as well! Terry joined the Mayfly Project to give back to the sport and to help others share the rewards that he has received from it!
